BACKGROUND

Losing my mom to cancer and my grandparents to a brain/heart event because of their chronic illness of diabetes was a very big wake-up call for my family and me. My intention is to share with you what I’ve learned about healing our bodies with food. Small changes every day can make a big difference in healing bodies and gut health. Making healthier choices in what you are eating, lifestyle modifications and mindset behaviors can help you get back to living a life you love. 

How am I different? I am just like everyone else not perfect; this is my perspective on what I have learned through decades of research and almost 50 years of life experiences.  I share with you a few things we never learned in health class and a few things we may have forgot in science class. I hope you truly learn something new and that you experience a few "aha" moments.

I know this way of eating works because my clients are losing weight, thinking more clearly, feeling more energetic, and best of all they are able to reduce their medications.

There comes a time in ones life as it has in mine that you want to make a difference for humanity this is my small contribution to that pledge. I guess you can call it a reoccurring driving dream in my life to create a piece of my passion to help humanity.

This is a small piece of the delivery of that promise. We all make promises every day to ourselves, to our families, to our colleagues and to our communities. You matter to me, it is not only about wellness, nutrition and health. It is about what matters, you matter. I care just as much as you do about the health of you and your family. 

As a young girl, growing up on a farm in Pennsylvania with my mom, dad and siblings, a hard working American family, living the American dream during the 70’s. I learned about eating, I hope you will learn as I have about living. We had pigs, cows, and a big half-acre size garden, which had everything from green beans, tomatoes, broccoli, cucumbers to lettuces and peppers. My sister and I used to pick weeds on the weekends and feed them to the cows and pigs, not our favorite thing to do as teenagers but looking back on it now, how I was raised was a great way to grow up. My mother’s cooking was the best and I learned a lot from her.  

Throughout my life, I've been fortunate to explore an array of fields that have ultimately provided me with an opportunity to truly discover my divine purpose... As CEO and founder of a wellness company, I am a savvy, passionate individual, I've held a number of positions in a widely varied career path working as a bartender, sous chef, model, actress, event planner, licensed real estate agent, mortgage banker, motivational speaker and executive recruiter. Along the way I kept my family roots to a healthy way of eating. As I always say (tm) "It's Not about dieting, It's about Living!!"-Karen Mayo

My Approach

I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected.

  • Does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to overeat?

  • Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising?

As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.

My approach is not to dwell on calories, carbs, fats, and proteins. It is not to create lists of restrictions or good and bad foods. Instead, I work with my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and rewarding.

Together we’ll work to reach your health goals in areas such as achieving optimal weight, reducing food cravings, increasing sleep, and maximizing energy. As we work together, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the food and lifestyle choices that work best for you and implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance and health.

I use a personalized, holistic approach to ensure that you will have great success!

Primary Food™:

It’s easy to overlook all of the things that contribute to our sense of nourishment and fulfillment. It’s not just the food we eat, but all of the other factors present in our daily lives. Healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity and a spiritual awareness are essential forms of nourishment. When these “primary foods” are balanced, what you eat becomes secondary. I will support you in achieving all of your goals, from eating the right foods for your body to living an inspired, fulfilling life.

Integrative Nutrition™ Plate:

The Integrative Nutrition Plate emphasizes the importance of local and organic produce, whole grains, high-quality proteins, plant-based fats, and water. It shows you how a plate should appear at mealtime and emphasizes the importance of proportions and portion size. To complete the picture, the plate is surrounded with lifestyle factors that create optimal health: relationship, career, physical activity and spirituality. I’ll introduce you to some of the healthiest foods on the planet and teach you how to find what’s healthiest for your unique body!
